How to install Ask-AI?
If your IT force installed the Ask-AI extension in your extension bar (found in the screenshot below), you can skip this step, just make sure you pin the extension!
If you do not have Ask-AI installed, please follow the steps below:
Open the Installation Link

- Go to the install link: Chrome Extension and add to chrome
- Find the extension in your extension management and click the pin so it turns blue to pin it for quick access
- Log in via your work email
- Open settings by clicking on your user profile icon in the light blue bubble in the top right corner in the Ask-AI extension. Then verify both boxes “Display Floating Widget” and “Open Link in New Page” are check marked.
- Refresh the browser in order to activate the floating widget! Found in the bottom right corner of your screen.
P.S. our floating widget seamlessly integrates with all webpages → anywhere you are, the floating sidebar will be! If it's not visible on a particular webpage, reach out to your CSM or support@ask-ai.com with the URL, and we'll promptly enable it.

Functionality: Opening/Hiding/Enhancing the Extension
- Click on the floating icon in the bottom right corner of your screen (note that you can drag it up/down)
- Click on the “x” icon to hide the sidebar extension
- Click and drag the hand to enhance the sidebar view to enlarge the Ask-AI screen or minimize it
Searching for Answers:
Generative AI search capability based on your company knowledge!
You have a few option to ask a question in the app:
- Ask in the search bar after opening the floating app, click enter:
- Search directly from text: Highlight a portion of text -> click on the "Search Text" bubble that appears to then auto search in Ask-AI

Important to Know:
Data Sources: you can filter your searches to one, or many data sources. By clicking on the data source ex: Slack, by clicking on the Slack icon you are opting out the source. Therefore, you will not see answers that exist in Slack
Dates: the date you see in the top right corner of the answers, represent the time the article, ticket, or conversation was last updated
Confidence %: the % you see in the bottom left corner of the answer represents the confidence score our model assigns answers based on relevancy, timeliness, data source weight, and your thumbs up/down feedback
Getting Answers:
Generative answer - In the light blue box that appears at the top when you search a question, you will get an answer that was created out of multiple data sources in a high confidence level, to deliver a generative answer to you.
Direct link answers - in the list of answers, you will get answers directly from the defined data sources integrated for your organization. You can view the source the answer was taken from and you can see the confidence score the model ranks the answer in terms of relevancy to your question.
- By clicking on the link you will get a preview of the answer from the source.
- By clicking on “open page” you will be directed to the actual source in the place where your answer is in a new page
- By clicking on copy, you can copy the answer and the link
